About Grymsdyke Farm - Farming A Culture
--
Grymsdyke Farm is a site within Lacey Green, a small village set in the Chilterns in Buckinghamshire, about 35 miles northwest of London. The Chiltern Hills are geologically part of a large chalk escarpment in southeast England. The properties on the site of Grymsdyke Farm comprise a series of farm buildings surrounded by a paddock, a walled vegetable garden and a small orchard. At the turn of the last century, it was a large working farm. Over time, it was divided and sold off into different properties. The manor house was separated from the farmhouse and the farmhouse and barns were sold off separately. Each of these buildings then acquired their own separate names: Grymdsyke Manor, Grymsdyke Farm, Grymsdyke Cottages and so on. This property includes a farmhouse, a small cottage, stables, a barn, and a series of outbuildings. The farmhouse and the small cottage remain as residential but the rest is slowly being converted into workshops and studios.
